Upcoming Schedule | Lecture Topics
Dr. Pensak has been in full-time private general dental practice for 26 years, with an emphasis on cosmetic reconstructive procedures. He lectures internationally on the subjects of aesthetic dental rehabilitation, practice management and occlusion theory. He has experience with a wide range of approaches to occlusal rehabilitation including Pankey, O.B.I., F.A.C.E., PAC-Live and is one of only a few hundred dentists to have completed the Full Mouth Rehabilitation program at L.V.I. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a published author, a part-time private consultant and is Category II laser certified.
Dr Pensak is also co-founder and clinical director of the Millennium Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. This is not only a state-of-the-art teaching and research facility, but also a model dental practice.

Efficient Indirect Anterior & Posterior Restorations
Dentists are asked to provide cosmetic, rehabilitative services with confidence and predictability. Obstacles and pitfalls lurk that challenge our ability to satisfy this request at virtually every step in the process. Fortunately, new materials and techniques have been introduced to greatly simplify these procedures.
The most valuable clinical lessons are those learned in a clinical setting, and with its extensive hands-on component, this course will give attendees the opportunity to try some of these new materials, and to hone their skills in the treatment planning, preparation and delivery of veneers and indirect posterior restorations. The approach will be considered, logical and based on scientific principles and clinical success.
The participants will be encouraged to consider the whole patient when diagnosis and treatment planning strategies are discussed. Materials and technique choices will be presented and defended. Metal-free protocols, pulp-exposure management, post placement techniques, marketing tips, smile design, TMD therapy, occlusal parafunctional assessment and practice management suggestions will all be presented from the point of view of practical incorporation into clinical dental practice.
Dentistry’s Strongest Link
The most significant challenge facing today’s adhesion-based aesthetic dental practices, is to obtain the most formidable link between tooth and restorative, while being predictable, safe and comfortable. Bonding systems have evolved and ongoing research has resulted in the latest adhesives that marry the best features of all of the past generations. This program reviews the latest developments in the area of dental adhesion and aesthetic oral rehabilitation, from both a scientific and a clinical perspective.
Conservative Indirect Posterior Restorations
In today’s increasingly aesthetic, conservative dental practices, the choice between direct or indirect restorations is often the choice between posterior composite or crown and bridge. Uncertainty about inlay and onlay materials, fee structuring and how it relates to insurance coverage, lab communication and clinical protocol, have all been factors that have prevented dentists from seeking out available alternatives. This program will detail an efficient and practical clinical approach to diagnosis and treatment delivery of the available options.
Occlusion and TMD for the General Dentist – Can’t we all just get along?
Opinions about occlusion are as many and as varied as are the individuals who speak and write about this nebulous subject. Dentists are to be forgiven if they feel like throwing up their hands in confusion when confronted with differing and apparently irreconcilable philosophies, all seemingly ‘scientifically proven’.
This program presents an overview of the history of various occlusal philosophies, with a view to simplification, particularly with regard to how to apply an occlusal philosophy in the management of TMD.
