TOTAL ESTHETICS FOR THE EVERYDAY PRACTICE

Adhesive dentistry without sensitivity is mandatory. We will discuss how to eliminate the sensitivity after bonding and how to prevent it prior to bonding. Afterwards successful bonding is a matter of which material and technique, some work, some don’t. We will show both failures and successful techniques on most all of the new materials.

Anterior esthetics is becoming the glitz and glamour of dentistry. How do we assure our patient and ourselves that after we prepare their front teeth we really can predictably give them the smile that makes it all worthwhile? We will begin with a complete smile evaluation and take the case through cementation. Creating that beautiful smile is much easier than you think and predictable, as long as you follow some simple rules.

POSTERIOR INDIRECT INLAYS / ONLAYS – Hands on program
This course is designed to familiarize doctors with a much more conservative approach for replacing amalgam restorations, rather than a full coverage crown. The hands-on portion will involve preparing indirect inlays and onlays or an inlay/onlay fiber reinforced bridge on typodonts. Provisionals will be fabricated with Integrity temporary crown and bridge material and cemented as the final restoration with composite resin cement.

POSTERIOR DIRECT COMPOSITES – Hands on program
This course is designed to teach doctors how to properly prepare and restore a Class I and Class II direct composite. We will demonstrate the use of the Palodent matrix system and possibly other matrix systems. We will also cover the use of bonding agents, flowables, packables, and hybrid composites.

ANTERIOR INDIRECT VENEERS – Hands on program
This course is designed to demonstrate anterior esthetic prep design for both cosmetic and functional cases. Each participant will prepare 6-10 teeth for indirect porcelain restorations. They will also learn a quick, functional and esthetic technique for provisionals using a putty matrix and Integrity crown and bridge material.

ANTERIOR DIRECT COMPOSITES – Hands on program
This course talks about the new generation of composite resins. Each doctor will prepare a class IV fracture on a typodont. We will fabricate a putty matrix stint from impression material to eliminate the need for interproximal bands. We will demonstrate the layering technique of the composite system using opaque, body and enamel shades to correct the Class IV fracture.
Afterwards, with the new polishing systems we will show how well the new micro hybrid composites can polish.

ARTICULATORS: WHY & HOW – Hands on program

The articulators for this course are sponsored by Jensen Industries. The goal is to show doctors how important articulators are in our everyday practices. The hands-on portion will begin with proper bite registrations. Each doctor will mount his own diagnostic models from a proper facebow/earbow registration.
